Come join your fellow Longhorns and volunteer with the Neighborhood Farm Initiative as part of its Urban Growers Program!  We will be volunteering from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday, July 12th.

The Neighborhood Farm Initiative donates more than 2,000 pounds of fresh produce to area non-profit organizations. We will help them by harvesting, weeding, mulching, and building trellises.  Come out and join us by getting your hands dirty and giving back to the DC community!

Texas Exes DC Chapter will be volunteering at DC Central Kitchen on May 18 from 9 am to 12 pm.  Come join your fellow Longhorns as we help prepare meals by cutting, chopping, and peeling thousands of pounds of food.  DC Central Kitchen helps families in the DC area by reducing hunger with recycled food, training unemployed adults for culinary careers, serving healthy school meals, and rebuilding urban food systems through social enterprise.

Saturday Feb 8th we will be volunteering at the Capital Area Food Bank, where we will be sorting and packing donated food for people in need in the Washington DC area. Depending on the amount of interest, we may have volunteer opportunities at both the Washington, DC and Northern Virginia warehouses.

Project Worldwide is a partnership between the Texas Exes and the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement designed to unite alumni worldwide in community service during the month of February. Project Worldwide has been taking place since 1999 and is UT's largest day of service.

The Texas Exes Washington D.C. Chapter will once again be joining other chapters to show the world just how active, connected and caring The University of Texas at Austin alumni are - that we truly believe What Starts Here Changes the World!
